- French-speaking schools: the CEB is a compulsory external exam in June (10 booklets over 4 mornings; provisional 2027 dates 21–25 June). New from 2027: pupils need 50 % in each of the 4 subjects AND a 60 % overall average.
- Dutch-speaking schools: the Vlaamse toetsen are digital, adaptive tests in Dutch reading and maths, taken between late April and mid-May. They inform the class council rather than acting as a pass/fail exam.
- Maths is where the gap opens: the 2026 CEB maths average was 70.8 %, and only 29 % of Flemish 6th-year pupils reached the norm for word problems.

Frequently asked questions
We’re an English-speaking family — will this work for us?
Yes, that’s exactly who this page is for. Your child does the exercises in French or Dutch, matching their school, and you follow everything from an English parent dashboard. Explanations are in the school language on purpose: that’s the vocabulary the exam uses.
Does it replace school?
No. Hopla6 complements the teacher’s work: 10 to 15 minutes a day to practise and understand mistakes.
Who writes the questions?
They are written from the official curriculum and past exam papers, then reviewed by a Belgian teacher before publication.
Which system is my child in?
If the school is in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (French), it’s the CEB track. If it’s a Flemish or Dutch-language Brussels school, it’s the Vlaamse toetsen track. You pick the track when creating the profile and can change it later.
What age is it for?
Hopla6 is built for the 6th year of primary (ages 11–12). A parent creates or confirms the account, in line with the Belgian digital-consent age of 13.
How much does it cost?
